Our Friday Night Triples Handicap League is intended as a fun, more social competition and is not meant to be taken too seriously. It is an ideal introduction for new members to get to know established members, to obtain help, guidance, support, and coaching. After every Friday Night League match, everyone is more than welcome to stay in the clubhouse for a chat and a drink. Friday Night League dress code is informal. Some members like to wear their club shirts, others a Bermuda shirt! The competition usually starts mid-June and runs through to mid-late August each year, weather depending.
Teams are drawn each year, with a nominal six players each. Teams are drawn at the start of each season, to contain a balanced mix of experienced players through to new members. Each team has a nominated organiser/captain. One important role for the organiser, is to draw up a rota of play order for each week before the competition starts, trying to ensure each member is given an equal opportunity to play. There may be weeks when teams are short of a team member, if so, the team can draft in anyone – member or guest, even though they may play for another Friday Night League team on other matches. However, players who are drafted in, cannot play skip. This year’s teams can be seen in the Teams table below.
Matches are played each Friday, starting no later than 6:15pm. A match comprises 16 ends, no trial ends, but 1 shot on the first two ends.
For purposes of building the Friday Night League Table, a win gains 2 points. a draw 1 point and a loss 0 points.

There is a handicap system in place to help balance the differences between strong and weaker teams, applied from the second week as the league progresses. More details of how the handicap system works can be found here.
