Saturday 11th of October saw Heyford Bowls Club’s Short Mat ‘Benco Shield’ Competition, take place in Heyford Village Hall. A mixed pairs’ competition, it was keenly fought and well attended by lots of spectators.
Big congratulations to this year’s winners Bob Bates and Jo King, smiling away in this picture. Special congratulations to Jo, as this is her first year bowling, only the second time in the village hall! Looks like she is really taking to it, with a trophy in her first season.
Thanks to everyone who came along. There were also tea, cakes and raffle prizes enjoyed. A great way to spend a Saturday afternoon, especially now the Autumn weather has returned.
Congratulations also to this year’s runners-up, Val Smith and Geoff Groom, seen on the left in this picture of the four finalists. Trophy to be presented at the forthcoming presentation evening, to be held at the clubhouse on Saturday 8th November.
