* * * FINALS WEEKEND * * *

Friday 1st September, Saturday 2nd September and Sunday 3rd September is our clubs finals weekend. This is the culmination of all our inter club competitions.

Matches will start at 2.00pm on all three days with an evening match being played at 6.00pm on the Friday. Spectators always welcome.

Village Fete

Short Mat bowling The village fete held on Saturday 10th June was well attended and a huge success for all. The Bowls Club had their usual bottle tombola which was sold out within the first hour. we need to ensure that we have more bottle next year.

The traditional start of the fete was the crowning of the Rose King and Queen. This year we were happy to see that one of our young players, Harry Foulks, being crowned as Rose King together with Eva Richardson as Rose Queen.

Harry has been coming to the club for over a year with his mum Lorraine and dad Jay. Lorraine, now one of our new bowlers is taking part in our club Friday Night League and also many of the Mixed and Ladies matches against other clubs. Harry is keen to take up bowls and did very well playing Short Mat over the winter.

He is currently trying on the outdoor green and is improving all the time. A future bowler in the making.
